Great facilities, peculiar system
We spent two years in this school, and ultimately left because both my boys were stressed, with one needing a psychologist (encouraged by the school). It’s a beautiful school, though, with wonderful facilities. A small school, too. During the first visit we were wowed and immediately felt a ‘yes’. However, soon we discovered the school has its own peculiar system (no books, organised play rather than free play, strict rules, demands a lot of autonomy and self organisation from a very early age), and if you are a child that is less of a follower and can’t sit still, then you’re going to be trouble. It’s a school with a lot of emphasis on the arts, which we loved, but in the end it appeared to be more about the perfect images, output and reputation of the school than about the fun and process of creating (and the necessary messing up) for the children. A bit too elitist, in my eyes, but that is personal. It’s a school for some, not for others. Self organised, studious and ‘good’ kids will do very well here. Kids with a strong will, a love for football and a bit of a lively personality may feel less happy.
